Road Ministry to Compile Plan for Increasing Transportation Security

TEHRAN -- The Cabinet, presided over by Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref, held a session on Sunday.

According to reports released yesterday, at the beginning of the session, Minister of Roads and Transportation Ahmad Khorram briefed the cabinet on the crash of the Tehran-Khorramabad flight as well as the means for transferring the bodies of the victims of the disaster to Tehran.

He expressed condolences to the families of the victims of the disaster, thanked those involved in searching for and transferring the bodies and providing assistance to the families, including the Headquarters for Disasters, the Agriculture-Jihad Organization, the Red Crescent Society, the Khorramabad Municipality, the Tourism Organization, the Oil and Telecommunication organizations, the Basij Forces and the Mountain Climbing Federation.

While underlining the necessity of continuing to provide assistance to the victims' families, the Cabinet ordered the Ministry of Roads and Transportation to seriously investigate the case and submit a report on the cause of the disaster.

The ministry is also scheduled to compile a plan for increasing transportation security for air, land and sea passengers in the next three months.
